Several things make a post
Jul. 8th, 2012 10:16 pm1. As
caulkhead mentioned, I had another baby. Three months ago today, in fact. After a horrible pregnancy, it was a fantastic birth (due to a lovely midwife who refused to declare me in labour until he was pretty much crowning, thereby sparing me all the high-risk protocols I was supposed to have and dreaded). In fact, if I could somehow skip the being pregnant bit, and the having a third child we can't afford financially or emotionally bit, I'd joyfully give birth again tomorrow.
2. This baby sleeps, and is happy to be dumped in a bouncy chair and ignored while I do things for at least half an hour at a time.
3. My pelvis has recovered like it was meant to last time. I can walk.
4. I am officially not diabetic now (although they want a fasting blood glucose once a year for the rest of my life, because I am at much greater risk of Type II). I am trying to get over my immediate response, which was to eat All The Cake, All The Ice Cream and All The Chocolate.
5. I have lost at least a quarter of my hair in the last month, possibly a third. That this is all perfectly normal for this stage post-pregnancy and it will grow back like last time is not reducing my general Hair Angst. I have actual bald patches at the moment. Fortunately, this summer head scarves are fairly easy to find.
6. As I said, this baby sleeps, and is to an extent self-amusing. I have time on my hands. So I'm trying to get a sourdough starter going again (the last one I tried developed bad moulds).
