I know it sounds like the very worst kind of Internet Thing, but I really actually literally do know someone who is an academic doctor of pain relief for babies and children.

The paracetamol-v-ibuprofen advice? He is very strongly in favour of paracetamol.

(It's actually standard advice for babies receiving vaccinations these days too, but that doesn't exactly qualify as Common Knowledge outside a very small cohort) 

ETA It's not that ibuprofen makes symptoms worse, but that paracetamol is always the better choice for fevers where the inflammation is the body's own defence. NSAIDs are better for inflammation caused by injury, such as trying to juggle two laptops and wrenching a ligament when one starts to fall...

It turns out that even I struggle with home-schooling, working, nursing the sick and keeping my mind all at the same time.

I have just been told I am not a key worker and can't have childcare*, which is privately something of a relief. Once school is officially out I might even get craft and reading opportunities.

*On the other hand, we are on free school meals, so we can have free sandwiches if we walk over to school at lunchtime and join the queue. Slightly ill-thought out delivery system there.

That is a terrible system! The school here has been forwarding the government advice bulletin every day,presumably to stop us all ringing them up and that said delivery or vouchers for more than the school gets paid for the meal, recognising that parents can't get the same bulk discounts. But presumably vouchers aren't useful in quarantine either.

Supermarket ones, definitely not. Even if they took them online the next delivery slots for any supermarket are well into April.

Waterstones vouchers (birthday present from colleagues) are accepted online, and I am really hoping this lives up to expectations.

I mostly take ibuprofen (for headaches and cramps) but would never take anything other than ibuprofen for a fever!
