Warmer weather now please?

perennialannaI like cold weather, but when I came into the sitting room to announce lunch, the child (already wearing everything I can keep on her) had taken the rug off the floor and wrapped herself in it on the sofa, and she had a point.
This isn't actually a difficult house to heat - it may be Victorian, but it's small, terraced and has double glazing throughout. Last winter we could afford to heat it to toastily warm (where toasty means wearing woolly socks, but only one jumper at a time). We just can't do it this winter though - I'm not totally sure we can afford the current Spartan just-enough-to-repel-damp levels of heating, but there are limits. And we both have jobs.
